Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Sociology is often overshadowed by psychology and anthropology. Admittedly, I did not know what sociology was going into the course. But as I began to wraps my head around the concept of studying social interactions I came to see the necessity of this discipline and its applications in my everyday life.

    Course highlights:

The sociological perspective is not just important when considering social functions and interactions but can be applied to almost any event or subject. The biggest take away from this class is that every social interaction, thought, idea, gesture can be sociologically analyzed and that as a result all actions have an impact and are significant.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Finding real world examples of the concepts studied in class will help cement them in your head.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Brown was an incredible teacher. She was enthusiastic about her subject and taught us in an incredibly interactive way. I found myself looking forward to class. I read the readings as if they were books for pleasure, and I found myself exposed to ideas I did not even know existed. Overall I would definitely recommend this course.

    Course highlights:

I learned to critically think and ready. I learned to be confident in class and not shy away from a challenge. I learned the importance of group discussion. A highlight of this course was the day we analyzed pop music videos.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to students considering this course is to not be afraid of the work. It is a lot but it's all interesting and integral to learn. Do the readings, study for the test, participate, and put effort in your writing.
