    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The course is one that is fairly popular and not hard, but do NOT pick a class that has an undecided teacher or Vasquez-Kool as the instructor for it, he's wicked smart but he is so unorganized it makes the class unbearable!

    Course highlights:

It really is an easy course and its required for most paths you take so I would recommend taking it, just not with Vasquez-Kool

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Find a groove that works for you and the teaching style of your instructor and really pay attention in labs

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is required - however, this does not take away from its importance. Everyone should have some sense of general biology and the organisms/mechanisms that make the world what it is, what it was, and what it will be.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me the importance of why you should not procrastinate. Biology is not a course you can wing. You need to come to class having studied and gone over your notes multiple times. In Bio 111 I got my first exam grade back and my grade reflected how much I had procrastinated. That moment I learned the importance of staying ahead and studying constantly.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

First of all, get an agenda and use it. Staying ahead of due dates will make you successful in the course. Always be on top of your assignments.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course is interesting, but it is shallow, not deep. I am enjoying laboratory classes where we are exploring cellular and molecular biology. But I would like to know more about bacteria, archaea and eukaryotes. Some of the information what was given to us I remember from my high school for example the study of the 4 elements that make up 96% of living things: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen. Overall I would recommend this class.

    Course highlights:

8 levels of taxonomic classification that organisms can be grouped: 8 levels of taxonomic classification that organisms can be grouped. The difference between Bacteria and Archae: Archaea can live in extreme environments but bacteria can not. Compare and contrast ionic to covalent bonding:Covalent bonding: the sharing of a pair of valence electrons by two atoms and Ionic Bonding: Attraction between an cation and a anion.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you ask questions if you missed something. Also do not miss labs.
