    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because she is a great teacher. Not only did she teach me skills to help me be a better public speaker. She encourages students instead of bringing them down. She is funny and she always makes the class enjoyable early in the morning. She is one of my favorite teachers at Wake Tech by far.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is that the speeches the students did were interesting. I learned how to speak better in front of a live audience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When it comes to your speech, before your speech day, practice! practice! practice!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. McCoy is an amazing instructor, she really helps you to come out of your shell. She also helps you to achieve your full potential in regards to public speaking. The material isn't difficult either.

    Course highlights:

I learned that public speaking is a common fear, but it is completely unfounded. If you do your research and prepare adequately for a speech, you'll do great.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to the techniques Mrs. McCoy gives you & prepare for your speech (visit the SPEAK Center or Ms. McCoy's office hours). Also don't be afraid to give your speech first. In my experience going first leaves you less anxious (you're not comparing your speech to others) and you may even get extra credit for stepping up!!!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an excellent class for everyone! We all will be called on to give a little speech, even if it is only at a wedding or a funeral. This class teaches you how to prepare and become comfortable talking in front of others.

    Course highlights:

Ms. McCoy's favorite saying is repetition is retention. Being prepared is the best way to succeed. Have a great speech prepared is great, but if you don't practice it you won't be successful.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Practice, practice and be prepared.
