    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because this particular professor does a "flipped" class. Meaning he would mostly focus on the harder portion of the material and if we have any other questions we are free to ask. Also, we take quizzes with our peers after taking it by ourselves to. This helps you see how your peers think to why they chose the answer they did. But, if you are a student that likes to rely on the teachers lectures and in class notes then this professor would not be for you because you have to take your own notes outside of class at your own pace.

    Course highlights:

I learned that there are numerous amounts of bacteria (good and bad) almost everywhere, especially with everything you touch. People have to have good hand-washing hygiene at all times.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to always stay ahead and study everyday. Also, take extra notes than what is given to you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this class! Labs were fun, lectures were interesting. Dr. Vasquez-Kool even became my Honors Project mentor and helped me design and carry out my research.

    Course highlights:

The labs are fun and hands on, and you learn REAL lab skills, not just how to do a classroom experiment. I use my lab workbook more now that I have completed this class and moved on, than I ever did while I was actually taking the course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Dr. Vasquez-Kool is not an easy Professor. He definitely makes you work and think for your grade. Grading is not always "fair" but he looks for people who participate and ask questions. If you're active in class and lab, you'll definitely see results.
