Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course is because when I first initially began to take this course. I really took it because it was dealing with "African Americans" not really knowing the in-depth articles and understanding of what Africana studies is really about. Bu,t it's not only giving me a sense of what Africana Studies is about but what's really happening in the world with black people, black women and minorities.

    Course highlights:

The highlights was about this course when I first came to the class and my professor did a saying of "Ago" which means calling for attention and the class responds "Ame" which means we are listening and we have your attention.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't take this course because you think it's really about popular black people in society such as beyonce. Because, its really not if your really in to Africana Studies understanding the political side and understanding the in-depth of what Africana Studies is then this course is for you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class was amazing! Although it was challenging, taking this class made me really think about certain things more deeply.

    Course highlights:

Well when I signed up for this class I automatically thought that all we were going to be talking about was slavery, and Martin Luther King Jr. We had 3 professors so the first day we entered the class they let us know that in this course we were not only going to be talking about that. I learned how to think deeper when reading being that they made us write papers every week. This course helped me improve my writing tremendously.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give students considering this course would be, to not go into the class thinking it's just going to be and easy course. That was one of my problems I just signed up for the class because I thought it was going to be easy and failed my first paper. You should also engage in the class more and try to ask questions, because the answers they give you might just help you on your next paper and you engaging in the class will let him know that you actually want to be there to learn and not just get a grade. The study tips I would give students would be to just read, and highlight the main points you want to talk about in the paper.
