This course educated me on Moderate/Severe Intellectual Disabilities. I learned how disabilities, not only affects the student, but also the family. I now know the positive impact that I can make in the lives of these students and families, by becoming a Special Education Teacher.
I have grown in my professional development due to this course. I have learned about the Special Education Procedural Process. This course not only instructed me on how to write Prior Notices, Evaluations, Integrated Written Assessment Reports, but also how to develop close relationships with students that have disabilities. I have learned strategies which will assist me in ensuring that my future students are receiving proper accommodations and modifications for their needs.

This course is tough; however, it is extremely beneficial. Make sure to read your textbook and study your notes every night. I used flash cards for vocabulary.
