Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is excellent. I had Professor Sojka for 80 minutes at 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays: it sounds horrible, but she woke everyone up and I was always participating. This course was both fun and informative and the reason I have chosen to pursue marketing as a career.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about the consumer process and what companies do to make their product the one that is bought. I am obviously a consumer myself and to hear about the studies done on what makes us purchase an item is very interesting, since I had never really thought about it.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you come to class because even if you read the book, she talks about things in class that are not in the book, but are on exams. Class is not bad at all, so it should not be a problem. The book was not completely necessary if you listen to her in class, and take notes. There are 3 midterms and only about 2 or 3 other assignments dispersed in the middle, so there is not many points, but if you study, there should be no problem. Make a quizlet for exams!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Dr. Jane Sojka. Her class is very fun and she is interactive with her students as well. If you do take her class thought make sure to go to class because she will say things in class which will be on her test. She is always able to help you out and her cookies and courses are nice as well just to talk to her about anything especially if you are a marketing major.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course for me was working with the University of Cincinnati Dance Marathon. My class, and all her classes, were able to help market for the UC Dance Marathon in order to get the word out there about it and to raise money for the Cincinnati Children's hospital. I learned in this class all the terms in which you should use in business such as target market, marketing mix, targeting strategies, and segmentation. All of this information is very valuable and knowing and applying the terms will help you with your other business classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to show up to class. She will put questions on the test in which she only said the answer in class and she only went over the certain material in class. She also elaborates on the powerpoint in class so you will want her in class notes. They will help you in the long run. All her tests are multiple choice and I found that quilt is helpful to study for her tests if that works for you.
