Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the Master's Internship in Counseling course, because this course teaches students how to be effective counselors. You get to intern with a professional counselor, and also share your experience with the class. You also have the opportunity to ask the class for feedback on certain situations with clients.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to be an effective counselor.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

The course is easy, as long as you show up to class, and show up to your internship.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Though this is a reuired course to take, I would recommend it because it will give you more supervision and guidance into becoming a better clinician. You will get feedback from your peers as well as respected professor who are in your field. The course will also go over materials that will be presented in the national counselor exam.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was going over the case presentation for one of my clients. I was struggling with counseling and reverting back to my old self. Though the feedback was harsh, it was definitely warranted and helped me understand that I need to change a lot of things in order to become a competent counselor.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You will need to practice self care and stay on top of things. This is course also entails that you are going to your internship site and practicing counseling. Since you are doing a lot, please be mindful of your self-care. They will emphasis this a lot in your first weeks of class, but will not revisit it again until you have reached that burnout period.
