Complications of IV therapy and nursing actions for each?
circulatory overload of iv solution (reduce FR and contact HCP), infiltration or extravasation (stop infusion, start in other extremity), phlebitis (stop infusion, start in other extremity), local infection (culture, clean, dressing, start new IV in other extremity), bleeding at site (Asses if IV is intact. Apply pressure dressing over site or stop and start new IV in other extremity). (P&P 910)
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This is great at teaching students some basics of the nursing program. Susan Cooperider is a great professor and really teaches the material in relatable ways.
The highlights of this course were definitely learning about what to expect on the NCLEX and just getting a general understanding on what to expect in future nursing classes.
