Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it opens your eyes to what other people go through. It's one thing to say that some have it harder than you, but it's another thing to see why. Being exposed to different cultures gave me a better understand of why people do the things they do and helped me to be more compassionate and fired up my want to help those who were born in a place/family/location where they can't help themselves or they have so much going against them that it's near impossible for them to succeed in life.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were seeing pictures of people from different tribes and watching how they live and interact to the rest of society. It also opened up my mind to what others go through in my own city. Those who were raised on the streets and what a disadvantage the kids have being born in that environment. I realized how fixed the system is. Those kids don't have half of the resources or support that I grew up with. The teachers in the inner city schools have so much more to teach them besides the given curriculum. And to see how little the government and the community around them was doing for them was heart breaking. This class was so much more than facts but had a lasting impression on the entire class. It affected each of us differently. Because of this class, I have chosen to work in free clinics after graduation and hopefully, one day travel to other countries to provide medical care to those that don't have access to it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You should definitely take it, you can learn so much about yourself and about the world around you that you've never noticed existed. But do not go in it just get an easy A but really take in the information given.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because I think it creates a MUCH needed discussion about how the way we grow up and who we are effects how we view the world and the people in it.

    Course highlights:

This course teaches you about topics you wouldn't normally go into depth about in regular classes. It teaches you about racism, feminism, the wealth gap, etc. It makes you reflect about how your opinions were more than likely formed because of the environment in which you grew up and are currently living.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the things you learn in this class to heart and apply it to your own life.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend to take this course online. It is very tough to learn all of this information on your own. Not impossible, but not great.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the history of sociology. You also learn the many different types of sociology and what it is.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you have enough time to devote to this course. It is a very time consuming course and you have to be prepared to study.
