Course Overview:
The teacher helps you understand the material and gives you an appreciation for math. Most students who do not like math end up liking this particular course because the teacher makes it easy to understand. Math is a lot more fun when you know what you're doing.
Course highlights:
I learned how to apply stats in my everyday life. Even though the real world is a little more complicated then the scenarios we did in class, I'm very sure what I've learned is very helpful with similar situations in real life.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Always always do your homework. The homework helps you grasp the course material better. Also, pay attention in class. That when you really learn and understand more instead of trying to study on your own at home.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This class is challenging but very useful in real life situations. By keeping up with the homework and reviewing past tests and quizzes, you will have no problem succeeding in this class. Not to mention Ryan is super patient and a great professor! He responds quickly to emails and is willing to schedule a time that works for both of you to go over a concept you may not be grasping.
Course highlights:
The highlight of this course for me was the lab portion. The lab portion used the program Excel ad it taught me a lot of very useful information. I was able to become more familiar with the program which is helping me succeed now in a Computer Science and Engineering class that I am taking at Ohio State University.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
I would say to a student considering this course to make sure you will have time to devote to it. While not all of the concepts are super hard, some of the concepts have multiple steps which makes completing homework for those problems a more lengthy process. It is important that you actually attend class so be sure to schedule it at a time when you would go. As far as studying goes, looking over old homework, tests, and quizzes was what I did and I was successful. Looking through his Power Points and review questions online was also a huge help.
