Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recomend this course, for it teaches you the depths of not only analyzing certin texts, but analyzing the events that happen around us. This coruse helps you read, write, anaylze, and become orgainzed for future classes, or a future job.

    Course highlights:

I feel this class has helped me understand literature better, while also helping me improve on my writing skills. Without this class, I feel like I would've been behind on writing papers for my other college classes, and would certainly lack in analyzing skills.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to succeed in college skills, and later writing papers for your future job-I would take this course!!! Yes it's required, but it's for your own good. Just relax, and take the time to dive deep into the stories you read, for it could help you as you learn to write. The class teaches you, that there's more to a story or photo than just saying, "Oh that was nice!"

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is lovely. I always love the readings that we go over, because I, myself, am an over-analytic person and love to read between the lines of a good story. Also, group work is almost essential (which I love), where we get into small group and analyze the process that the author went through to make this work, or just what went through said authors head.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course for me would have to be the freedom when writing essays. The essays were still structured for MLA format, however the topic was mostly chosen by us, the authors! For instance, we were told to analyze a visual text to pick out rhetorical details used to convey a message to the reader. So I chose a piece of advertisement from my favorite video game series and went into detail about it. Writing about what you know absolutely helps in the writing process, and really just makes the entire assignment feel like fun.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to you, would be to speak up. If you have a thought that pops into your head and you feel that bit of hesitation before raising your hand, learn to conquer that fear of judgment. English is so much fun when you get involved in the course and really help drive the discussion forward, even if its an abstract thought! Go for it!
