Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Anne is a great teacher and really has a passion for what she does. Tells you exactly what you need to know and why. Study the study guides that she provides and you will do very well!

    Course highlights:

Going into the medical field this course was essential. From learning about infections to the different bacterias that cause them, it really opened my mind up to just how important the information behind microbiology is when dealing with patients. Overall a great class and I highly recommend!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the study guides provided! No book required but the study guides will be your lifeline. Take the time and put in the effort, easy A if you put in the time.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Microbiology with such a fun class. In microbiology you learn about different viruses that attack our human bodies on a daily basis and how our bodies can either fight or be resistant to certain antibiotics.

    Course highlights:

The Highlight for me in this class was learning the different viruses, the route of infection, and what antibiotic is sufficient to kill the virus. For an example, the herpes simplex virus route of transmission is through sexual contact, and the antibiotic to help clear up Herpes is acyclovir or valacyclovir.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class is definitely time consuming and a lot of memorization. You definitely need to understand how viruses enter the body and how eliminate them. Taking notes as well as listening to lectures is what I had to do after each lecture to fully understand all the material.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

At first, I was terrified of this course. I thought it was going to be extremely challenging. While the content was intense, Natalie's passion for the topic made it easy to get excited about learning it. The lab portion was really exciting. I loved the course.

    Course highlights:

I loved doing the gram positive and gram negative stains. I also enjoyed growing the various bacteria and coming back to see how they had changed. I learned that there is a lot more bacteria in the world than I would like to know. It is literally everywhere. Also, gram negative bacteria is quite scary.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Enjoy what you are learning and listen during lecture. When you listen and take notes during lecture it puts the concept in your mind so it is easier to recall when studying.
