Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Overall, the class is a trip! Swenson is by far one of the best writing teachers a college student could ask for. He does not sugar-coat the class one bit. You walk in, expecting a creative writing course to be simple, especially a basics course, but you actually end up learning a tremendous amount about your own writing and how to grow from it.

    Course highlights:

I've always believed that the only way to become a good writer is by being a good reader. Though this class was in the 3-week term, which can be stressful, I feel the amount of readings we were assigned were not only manageable, but also enjoyable and extremely helpful!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do your reading and keep up with the writing! You have some time to complete each piece in advance, but don't let that go to waste. There's a lot to be said about multiple drafts, and you'll get a better grade if he can tell you put some effort into your piece. Also, you won't get away with anything shady, and I mean that. Nothing that has even remotely been written about before will get past this guy. Creativity is the key here.
