This class was tough.
Dr. Kwan is brilliant, but the way he structures the class is not conducive to student learning. Student are expected to watch absurd amounts of lecture videos out of class--videos that do not stay on topic, and are not discussed in class. Overall, Dr. Kwan is not a helpful professor, something that is necessary in a course that is essential to future classes like Organic Chemistry.
Dr. Kwan makes great jokes in class occasionally. You gain some of the basic knowledge necessary for the second semester--but if you switch professors, be aware that there is key information you will be missing!

Advice for students:
Stay on top of the videos, and expect the unexpected. Tests will not be on the material Dr. Kwan claims they will be on, and they will be extremely difficult. Office hours can sometimes be helpful, but it is necessary to go in with the understanding that Dr. Kwan is not sensitive to students' feelings.
