    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a required course for Biological Science majors at Kent, but I would not recommend it as an elective to students who do not need to take it.

    Course highlights:

You will learn a lot about the biological processes of animals and plants like the Calvin Cycle, Photosynthesis and many others.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to know the steps of each process by heart otherwise it will be much more difficult to take the exams. If you take the Honors version of the course half of each exam will be open ended essay questions.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking into the biology major because it highlights thoroughly the base principles of biology and learning or relearning the foundations of biology is an overall great start on your journey to becoming a bachelor or even a master of science.

    Course highlights:

Most of the material was review, but I learned the basic components of life and biology and how they work.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study all the time, not just the day before the exam. Constant studying will result in better scores.

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course but with caution. Many people find this to be a difficult subject and Dr. Tinkler to be a bit unapproachable. I did really well in this course and thought he was a wonderful professor but it definitely demanded a lot of my time outside of class. It is college though so that is to be expected.

    Course highlights:

My personal favorites were learning about energy systems and cells.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it, you will learn, you will get your moneys worth. It helps a lot too for freshman to get organized fast and with this course, you will need to.
