    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He’s a good professor, nice notes, knows what he’s talking about in depth, attend class and you’ll receive a good great. Study the material well and you’ll be fine. Not a lot of homework (all of it is due and the end of the semester) so grade is mostly on exams, labs, and participation.

    Course highlights:

The material was very difficult, but nothing you couldn’t handle as long as you study and pay attention in class. It was interesting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely study about an hour to two hours a night. Utilize the office hours, the study sessions the TAs has, and the drop in tutoring. Make friends in the class to study with. Go to the office hours even if you aren’t struggling just to meet the professor and he’ll be happy to help.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it provides a basic understanding of many biological functions that are important to know for future courses. Therefore, it is a prerequisite for many subsequent biology courses.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot through this course. It is centered on the human body, but can then be applied to other organisms as well. I most enjoyed learning about the effects of genetics, and the way that the heart and circulatory system work.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Attending the lectures is a must. Even though the slides are online, there is so much additional and helpful material presented in the lecture. I saved the powerpoints to my computer, then typed additional notes from what she was saying. I found this very helpful to obtain all of the necessary information.
