Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Amateis is an amazing teacher! I never understood chemistry until I learned it from here. She goes step by step and makes sure you understand the basics.

    Course highlights:

Not only does Amateis teach very thoroughly she also does awesome demonstrations some even involve fire! The demonstrations definitely helped solidify the topics in my brain.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you understand all the homework problems. They are very similar to the tests and making sure you understand all the homework problems guarantees that you have a basic understanding of all the topics that will be on the next test. Also, redo the homeworks before the test it is great review!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

My professor is amazingly knowledgeable in the subject matter. She wrote the book for the course! She's very willing to answer questions, and is extremely sweet.

    Course highlights:

The professor always made class interesting. I remember that she had an in class demonstration almost every day that we had lecture, which made understanding the course concepts a lot easier.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT SKIP CLASS. I learned that the hard way. There are I-clicker questions and those are a decent portion of your grade. Also, no matter how well you think you can prepare for tests on your own, going to lectures will never hurt.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Amatais was very, very helpful and quite invested in her students success. She made sure we knew about study groups, individual tutoring options, and review sessions; sending out emails sometimes daily. I really enjoyed the class a lot more with her at the front of the class.

    Course highlights:

One thing I really liked about this course were the many opportunities for help and assistance with the class. More than just learning about chemistry, I learned how to overcome my fear of asking questions in a large lecture. I learned to humble myself and to take advantage of the free tutoring offered. But most of all, I learned that the higher amount of work you put into something, the better the outcome will be.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To students considering this course, I would say, don't expect to be able to slack off for any time at all. This course moves full throttle from day one. That being said, as long as you don't put off doing the assignments, you won't feel overwhelmed.
