    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is required for many incoming freshman. Some labs will take the entire two hours to complete, while others will take about 45 minutes. There are a lot of pre-lab and post-lab work.

    Course highlights:

I learned basic laboratory techniques. Additionally, I learned time management skills and how to write a well composed lab report.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not wait until the night before to complete the work for the next day's lab. Try to get to class early...if you come one minute late, you will not be allowed into the room. Also, have all of your materials with you (goggles, laptop, closed toed shoes) and complete all of your pre- and post-lab work or else you won't be able to get into class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Well this class is required for most freshmen coming in.

    Course highlights:

There were a few labs that were actually interesting and enjoyable. By the end of the semester the labs only take about 45 to an hour so you are usually getting out of class early if you work efficiently.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You should follow the directions very carefully and not wait to the last minute to do your lab reports. They take a long time and most of the time require a lot of critical thinking. Don't show up to lab without the pre-lab done or without any materials because THEY WILL kick you out and give you a zero for that lab. If you turn anything in a minute late they will also give you a zero so be timely.
