Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Carla is one of the most amazing professors at VT, she really cares that you learn and understand the material, and will go out of her way to help you pass and understand the material.

    Course highlights:

Cellular biology! The form and function of the cell and it's components at the molecular level. It's absolutely essential to learn for later biology classes.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book, as a supplement to the lectures if you have Dr. Finklestein. Everything on the tests is in the powerpoints, and the book will help flesh out the ideas for real understanding.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Definitely, take the course with Carla. She explains everything you need to know in lecture, her powerpoints are helpful and concise and she's not boring if you have to take it at 8 AM. The tests will be rough, but they come from the powerpoints, so if you actually understand the material you'll be fine.

    Course highlights:

Learning the essentials to cell and molecular biology and actually understanding the cell to cell interactions the intracellular interactions and all that jazz. I worked in a lab at the same time as taking this course and it was really helpful in improving my performance inside the lab as well as my other courses that relate to the material.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you take it be prepared to study. There's a lot of memorization that goes on in this just be the design of how its taught by anyone. Do the homework, show up to class, study, you'll do fine.
