    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor is great, put time in to study yourself. It's a flipped classroom learning style. Notes are very thorough, lots of learning on your own, practice in class through worksheets.

    Course highlights:

Basics of Organic Chemistry. This was the second part of organic chemistry at Virginia Tech. Matson is the only professor at Virginia Tech to teach organic chemistry in this flipped classroom style. He gave extra credit through sapling, there was also sapling homework. Take advantage of the extra credit, although very hard at times. Go to office hours for them. He also gave extra credit for sharing your worksheet answers with the class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study a lot. Practice, practice, practice. Make flashcards, whatever works for you. Practice drawing out mechanism and memorizing products and reactions.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Berg is a fun professor to take. He's nice and approachable, but his notes are kind of disorganized

    Course highlights:

Berg made learning OCHEM more enjoyable than I thought it would be. He also gives you good tips on how it is practical and applies to what you want to do.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to keep up with the material and that you understand the homework.
