    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course gives you a new way of viewing the world of design, as well as the world in general. It provides the foundations for developing an architectural eye and gives you the skill set needed to continue your education in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, industrial design, and interior design.

    Course highlights:

I was able to develop my own style and ideas about design while learning how to express those ideas through drawing, diagrams, models, etc. I also gained insight on how to discuss a work using design vocabulary, as well as what makes a piece or idea successful.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Students considering this course need to be prepared to give 110%. Although the class itself is 12 hours a week you need to be in the studio doing individual work and developing ideas at least that much time out of class. Also keep in mind that a big part of this class is to participate in discussions and exchange ideas with others.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's unlike any other generic course where I have to write x amount of essays. I work at my own pace and gain the kind of knowledge that other classes overlook.

    Course highlights:

I definitely learned how to take a step back from all the noise in the world and look deeper at everything. Closer examination of shadows, colors, and much more opens up my mind to a better understanding of our world.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Always talk to the professors because it will not only get you further in your education, but it's good to start make connections. Also, critiquing is part of the education so get used to getting and giving constructive feedback on projects.
