Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Overall a really great class, if you love biology! It's a wonderful intro to all areas of biology, and with a little hard work, it's not all that bad.

    Course highlights:

Highlights included lots of dad jokes, a feeling of comradery among the class, and an increased hunger to learn as much as possible

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Start on those outlines early. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Study groups were very effective! The second exam is difficult, and he doesn't seem to care.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a good course to gain a cellular understanding of biology. Overall, broad concepts are addressed in this course. Animals and plants were both addressed in this course, as were some microbiology concepts.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed learning exactly how plants gained energy through photosynthesis. I've always enjoyed plants, but I gained a new appreciation for these very needed plants.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study a lot. Make sure you understand exactly what is happening during photosynthesis and aerobic and anaerobic respiration. Go to office hours or peer tutoring if you have time. It really does help.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Beltz is not educated enough to adequately teach at all. She does not know how to read the periodic table, which is taught in middle school. She doesn't take the time to explain confusing concepts or review before any tests. I have no doubt that with a different professor, this course would be much better.

    Course highlights:

I learned about cells. The organelles that make up the cells, how they reproduce, what cells make up what, etc. Just about everything about cells.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study a little bit each day. Don't cram it all in the night before the exam.
