    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to someone who is interested in learning more about biology or someone who is passionate about it. The professor was absolutely amazing at conveying the material to the class. He made many resources available to students who needed extra help outside of the class.

    Course highlights:

Coming into this course, I was unsure about how I felt about biology. As the semester went on, I became more and more interested about this course. I learned about plants, bacteria, and animals at a cellular level. I learned about how DNA is replicated, how RNA is replicated, different proteins within the body that help you function and keep you alive. It is very interesting because there are so many things that are happening within your body at one time, you never really think about it. I learned why animals such as cows and labradors have the fur/coat color that they do. I have developed a better understanding of life at a cellular level. I really enjoyed this class

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Attend SI sessions and office hours. Even if you already know the material, the help you receive outside of class will help the information stick in your brain. Take a lot of notes, and be sure to study the notes frequently outside of class

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Montgomery is really good at answering questions and explaining things. He has great stories and takes his time when teaching new subjects.

    Course highlights:

I learned about prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. I also learned about how the cells are infected by diseases and how plants use photosynthesis to gain ATP.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do all of the homework and be ready for daily quizzes. Also go to office hours and SI sessions to make sure you deeply understand the subject.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course IF you want to test and push your limits. It will make you cry, laugh, and uncomfortable because as you learn about the concepts it is happening in your body.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course is the instructor. Mar is an adorable professor who loves to ruin juice, drinking, and peanuts for you! I learned about cellular respiration, photosynthesis, mitosis, and meiosis. All of which stuck with me after each lecture.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to carefully pick who you want to be in a group with for the semester. I would also highly encourage printing out the learning objectives that are provided to fill them out during lecture. Lastly, always go to the SI sessions! They are super helpful and a great way to change the "language" of biology to simpler terms!
