Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Coming into this class, I was terrified. I thought it would be the bane of my existence. Within the first day, however, I realized that it would be the best class I have ever taken. Scott is such a dynamic professor. He leaves you looking forward to class each day and relieves a lot of the stress associated with public speaking.

    Course highlights:

This class really pushed me outside of my comfort zone. Giving speeches in front of a class is no easy feat. That said, the friendly environment was very condusive to student's best work.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely try to get Scott Bourque as your instructor.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course without any hesitation. This is a course that is beneficial to all by giving people the opportunity to improve their public speaking skills. I learned not only how to be more comfortable in front of a group of strangers, but how to construct a speech outline. I feel like i gained so many useful skills that will help anyone with their major or future career.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this class was that the professor made you feel welcomed and comfortable with something most people struggle with. The class wasn't too large, but gave you a wide audience to interact with and get various opinions. I learned how to critique a speech, and fix some nervous habits that I face when speaking in front of a large crowd.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, you need to be creative and patient. A good speech will not come to you in a short amount of time but involves thought and practice. Students need to make sure to fit all the criteria of a speech into the allotted time frame. During the class time, listen to the professor's suggestions and idea's to give you a start at thinking of your own.
