Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to students who intend to pursue a career in business or industry. It helps a person develop problem-solving techniques and different ways of thinking that could be useful for a job in business.

    Course highlights:

I found Computer Science I useful with my mathematics degree because knowing how to code is essential for mathematical research and applied mathematics. I learned a new language and how to ask the right questions in order to produce the acquired data.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to anyone considering this course is to know what you're getting yourself into. This course forces you to think in ways that are unconventional in order to make a program function the way it is intended to. It is challenging to change your way of thinking to fit what a program is calling for.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great introduction into the field of Computer Science. It will not be a problem if you have no prior experience with coding, and provides a great balance of theory and practical application.

    Course highlights:

The labs presented in this course are very interesting, and you have the advantage of doing the work outside of the lab by using your own computer. I learned the basics of the Java programming language and am confident in the knowledge I have gained through this course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Like I said, having no prior knowledge of programming is not an issue when taking this course. Just pay attention and everything will click eventually. Kasper is great about answering questions so don't be afraid to ask about things you aren't sure of, or even about simple curiosities and such.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a great way for me to jump into programming in Java. Even though I had very little experience in coding before taking this course, I had no trouble learning the material, and being confident in the things I learned.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were probably the projects. The projects allowed you to put everything you learned all together in one big program, that ended up being pretty fun as well. Our final project for the course was programming a game of battleship!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Working with other people is very helpful, since they might see mistakes that you are missing.
