Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I absolutely loved this course. Dr. Grant offered so much expertise from genetics research to personal experience with his own son.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course for me were the biological aspects of development, from in utero to puberty. We learned about the stages of embryonic development to emotional and sexual developments of teenagers.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to the PowerPoint lectures. Make sure you write down the comments he makes that aren't on the PowerPoints. Flashcards help with all the terms. Put meanings with the terms- don't just memorize like a robot.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course if you would like to understand the development of children from conception throughout their childhood. Dr. Gary Sarver is a great professor, however, he uses older technology and does not post anything on the school's website. Make sure to only take this class with him if you plan to attend classes. Each day was filled with a ton of new and interesting information. I would walk out each day with 1+ pages of notes or stories he shared with us.

    Course highlights:

One of the biggest highlights of the course was the way the professor taught. He taught in a way that made it easy for his students to retain information, including real-life stories with his children. He also likes to crack jokes in class which brightens up the class a lot!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There are only two grades in this course, a midterm and a final. If you're anything like me, you will put studying off until the last minute, but it is essential you look over the information as you learn it to do the best, as there is a lot of information.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Sarver is an amazing teacher and truly does make you learn the course work and the information. Its so interesting to see how a child develops and grows into its own person. The professor is helpful and really makes you eager to learn.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed learning about the different mental disorders and also learning about the different stages a baby takes before it learns self differentiation. I loved understanding the biology behind everything and learning about the way people think in different stages of life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not ever skip class because he does not use blackboard nor does he save notes for anyone and he usually gives information not found in the book. We use the book alot, definitely if you want an A. Take clear notes and write down his examples.
