Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a good introduction of general chemistry and the course was not super difficult.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about general chemistry. I liked the way the professor taught during class because she used a system called "Tophat" which included participation.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study all of her slides for every exam. Sometimes she pulls out things she only mentioned once in class and expects you to remember it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is required to take this course if you are going into nursing. Professor Hopgood is very helpful and easy to talk to.

    Course highlights:

I learned many aspects of chemistry. Conversions are the biggest part of this class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to supplemental instruction. It helps clarify what was went over in class.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because the professor is very upbeat and makes the course fun. Every person I ever talked to hated Chemistry, but I loved this course and Chem. I think this course is great. If you ever get the chance to take a course with Dr. L I would take it.

    Course highlights:

I learned about dimensional analysis, which is a certain way of figuring out math in chemistry. I learned about atoms and their nucleus. Atomic number, mass number, etc. I learned about ions: cations and anions. Electron configurations, short-hand configurations. Acids, bases, conjugate acid, and conjugate base. Redox reactions and reactions. Reactions between acids and bases. Balancing equations. The basics of Chem.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study, study, study when you're about ready to take the exam. Actually read the sections that you're assigned to read. Do all extra credit, it'll help you know what you don't know and improve on what you do know. Go over the things you feel shaky about. Ask questions when you feel unsure about something.
