Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor is very patient and willing to help. She provides a layout of the whole semester, so everyone always know what to expect. This class has made a noticeable difference in my writing skills. The professor teaches everything people enrolled in the class will need to know. She does this so everyone is able to not only pass the class, but achieve a knowledge of the subject

    Course highlights:

In this class I learned how to type a paper in MLA format and the proper way to make a works cited page. I also learned how to write a thorough paper in a short amount of time; I have used this skill in several of my other classes. I learned how to read others essay and write a reflection essay based on theirs.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If someone were to want to take this course I would advise them to listen to the professor. She will give tips that will help when writing essays for her class. The writing center can provide additional help in writing and reviewing your essay. Doing these little things will help students taking the course achieve a high grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Alison is very organized and he knows what he is talking about. He cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. His classes always had new information for me, even when it was a topic that I had prior knowledge of. He makes it a point to explain everything so there is no confusion and when you need help he is willing to provide it. He tries to challenge you, he likes students to use their brain and really think about the information. He also has a zero tolerance for disrespect to other people, so if you have a different opinion you will need to find a respectful way to share that. Overall, I enjoyed the course because I learned relevant information in a respectful and caring environment.

    Course highlights:

In the English 1510 course, we studied different writing methods through use of rhetoric. We looked in depth at the different forms of rhetoric and analyzed which ones were being used in different pieces of literature. We frequently read articles and discussed them, most of which were very informational and could be applied to life today. If you take his class, be prepared to do a lot of writing!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up on your work! I loved his class, but some of my classmates who would wait until the last minute to write their essays. They were usually the few classmates that complained about him. Give it a week into the course before buying textbooks so you know whether or not to buy them. My main thing about this class is to make sure you give yourself enough time to casually write your essays. Nothing is worse than feeling rushed to do work.
