    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

My mother graduated with a bachelor's degree in English education, so I have always had a very strong grasp of grammar and writing rules. Because of this, I did not find the course very challenging. However, many of my fellow students felt differently. If you feel you do not have a solid knowledge of grammar or writing, LA 101 English Composition 1 is a wonderful place to learn.

    Course highlights:

LA 101 English Composition 1 requires a basic knowledge of grammar and writing skills. The course focuses mostly on writing papers, though short grammar exercises are integrated as part of the coursework. I learned to appreciate the input of my peers, and found that they looked at my writing at different angles than I did. I feel that this was helpful in enabling me to better see my reader's point of view as I write.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to ask questions if you need help. My professor was wonderful about answering all of our questions quickly, and I found this very helpful. Keep a chart of projects and due dates so you can stay right on schedule.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class is a great way to build a foundation for writing papers, because trust me, you have to write a lot of papers for college. This course definitely made it easier for me to write papers and advance my writing skills.

    Course highlights:

One thing I really liked was the way we-as students-looked at each others' papers to give constructive criticism, which was extremely helpful to me as well as to the other students.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

There's no short-cutting it. Don't try it , just do your absolute best. Yes, there may be times when you have to give up going out with friends to finish a paper or some other project, but trust me, in the long run--it's totally worth it!!
