Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this if you intend on being a business major. It is the basic starting grounds for all business classes after. Besides the requirement professor Yazar does an excellent job of not just lecturing but making ideas and principles stick so that it becomes a memorable course.

    Course highlights:

Highlights were the full understanding of concepts taught during this class. I learned all basics of economics such as supply and demand on a narrow and broad spectrum.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

study like all courses, but take the time to look at companies where such principles apply. Never go with the motions of studying only for an exam, study like you have a job on the line.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course! Dr. Simon is incredibly smart and passionate about her subject. I had little to no background in economics but by the end I felt I had gained a broad but fairly thorough understanding of the subject.

    Course highlights:

The semester is divided into micro and macro economics. It covers some basic math used in the field as well as relevant, real life examples behind each concept.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

All you really need to do is pay attention in class and do the homework. There's only one assignment per week so it's the least you can do. There is one quiz per week. They are not difficult provided you study a little bit beforehand. The exams are a bit harder but there are practice exams online that help tremendously. Overall a fun and well-balanced course. You will learn a lot!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are looking to go into anything business, you're going to need to know at least basic econ. Skosples is an excellent teacher, and is always available for extra assistance. As someone who has gone into further economic classes, this class gave me an excellent platform to build off of, and I truly feel more prepared than other classmates.

    Course highlights:

I learned the fundamentals of both micro and macro economics. As the name of the course suggests, you learn about the principals of economics. You also learn how to apply the things you learn in the classroom setting to real life events through a paper at the end of the year.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into office hours the second you are even slightly confused. Everything builds off of each other, and if you fall behind in one thing, you'll suddenly be behind in everything. Skosples is very accommodating. Don't be afraid to ask him to repeat something—his accent can be a little hard to understand at first.
