    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

For a 101 course, this class was very challenging for me. In college one must remember to adapt to the different grading styles and teaching methods quickly. You only have a semester to catch on.

    Course highlights:

This course really highlighted the minds behind the modern sociology field. The class covered most of the main perspectives as well focusing on functionalism, conflict theory, psychological perspective and feminist theory.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read, read, read. Most teachers like to have discussion about the material, not recite the book. The professor of this class always said "If I was going to say whats directly in the book, I wouldn't of wasted your money on that textbook in front of you". If you read the material, even without understanding it, you will grasp the concept through discussing it in class.
