    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Schmidt taught at a very reasonable pace and made the course material easy to understand. He was open and friendly and made it easy to approach him with any questions. He had a good sense of humor that enhanced the class and made it even more enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

This class can be tough if you do not study well enough! It is essential to understand the basic nomenclature to piece together what is happening or being said in class. The most difficult part of the class was the reaction mechanisms, which is like a language within itself. Once you practice enough with it it should become easier in time.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't underestimate the power of flashcards when it comes to understanding vocabulary and nomenclature. Keep practicing mechanisms and reactions forwards and backwards, ask questions, and do your homework, then you should be okay.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Organic Chemistry 1 with professor Li is interesting. He is a young and vibrant man just out of his masters degree. His lectures are guided by book powerpoint slides. He is open to questions but is very soft spoken. Bring questions to class, he will answer them then or go to his office hours! Good Luck.

    Course highlights:

You will need to know how to self teach and definitely read the book and do the homework.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

STUDY HARD, the class is not made to be easy.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The subject is interesting, but the teacher was not of high quality. He seems bored and unwilling to help his students.

    Course highlights:

I liked learning the material, but I wish he would do a better job of explaining the material.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study ahead! It's better in the case you fall behind!
