    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I think it's a great course. You get a solid foundation in the general parts of biology, however like most intro bio courses it is designed to get out the people who aren't really committed to it. I personally really want to go to med school one day so I am fully committed to this class. It really takes a lot of time and effort when it comes to studying. You really need to dedicate the time to understand all concepts that Stevens discusses because everything just ends up building on your beginning knowledge.

    Course highlights:

I had taken a similar course in high school. So I knew most of the material however my teacher never gave big exams or finals. I took this class to refresh my memory on everything and to see what a college class with exams and such was like. I wanted a class that I had a general understanding of so that I could focus on how the structure of the class went because that was majorly important for me to learn.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read the chapter before lecture. Always do your Launchpad quizzes and activities or you will fail. Clicker questions also add up so make sure you pay attention to answer them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr Taylor is a very smart and educated man, but it seems as if teaching may not be his forte. When he teaches, he material is very unorganized. The majority of his test questions were difficult and very hard to understand. He also didn't do a good job of answering questions. His answers were often "I don't know" or "look in the book"

    Course highlights:

The only thing I really learned from this course was that I'd have to teach myself the whole thing. It was pretty much a lot of basics from Bio 2150, so I didn't struggle too much. We spent a lot of time of DNA and cell structure, as well as photosynthesis and cell respiration.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book. You probably won't understand the lectures if you dont. Do the homework immediately after lecture or reading the book when the information is fresh. Try to got o his office hours.
