    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

She truly cared about her students and wants you to meet with her. Going to meet with her to talk about the material really helps expand your knowledge and help you understand better.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was learning good study habits and how to study for difficult tests. It helped me form study groups that helped me achieve greatness. I learned new study techniques as well as more about the basics of biology.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You must be ready to study and put in the effort. This class is not easy but you can succeed if you take advantage of SI and the office hours with Dr. Ray as well as time on your own.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are a science major and need to take general biology I suggest taking it with professor Engle. She's a great professor who wants to see her students succeed. A lot of professors will have their class set up so that the only points available come from tests. Engle gives homework, she has quizzes, and has group work in class which may sound like extra work but it allows for you to earn easy points to cushion a not so great test grade.

    Course highlights:

The best thing about this course was Engle being bright and full of energy when teaching. Nothing is worse than having a monotoned professor who doesn't seem to care about what their teaching.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read chapters ahead of class, helps make sense of what you'll be learning in class. FLASHCARDS ARE YOUR FRIENDS, USE THEM!! If you're someone who wants to just sit back and relax and not try all that hard then this class isn't for you and frankly neither is being a science major. The harder you work the easier the class, the more you slack the faster you will fail.
