Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course helps you hone your essay writing skills. The curriculum is spiraled to enable you to build your essay throughout the year.

    Course highlights:

By taking this course, I learned about writing conventions - especially the comma. I came to realize that I wasn't pausing as much as I needed to! This has enabled me to become a more exact writer in all my subjects. This course also helped me to write creatively. He would give us a lose prompt, so that we had more freedom over our prose. I enjoyed this part of the class the most. I especially enjoyed the spiraling of assignments in this class. The instructor had each lesson build on each other, so that by the end of the semester your paper was pretty much complete. It helped me with pacing and revision skills.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You must turn in everything! Even if it is late, you must turn it in. The structure of the class requires one assignment to be completed before the next process/part is initiated.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This professor leaves a lot of room for creativity in the essay topics he assigns. He is also very understanding and genuinely interested in what his students have to contribute to the class.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this class was being able to share ideas with my classmates. Normally things like this make me nervous, but the professor and my classmates were always supportive.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't write your whole essay the night before it's due.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She gives a lot of free reign in the projects, encouraging creativity, but has guidelines and project requirements that everyone must follow. Every assignment must be turned in in order to pass the course, no matter how late, so you're always growing and pushing yourself to finish assignments. I loved this class and everything I was able to experiment with throughout the semester.

    Course highlights:

I was able to pick my own subject for our research topic and create my own survey poll, learning how to design and convey the survey and its data as part of my analytical argument. I was also able to explore spoken word as part of our memoir project and turn in a video form of the project along with my written portion.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the time for it, the work isn't hard, but effective and creative writing takes time.
