    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course! Professor Yates was a phenomenal communicator and teacher, and he made the content fun to learn. If you don't have the privilege of having him, I would still recommend this course! This is such a pivotal class in understanding how the human body works and it is truly fascinating. The combination of lecture and lab ensures that what you learn sticks. Although some people get grossed out at the cadaver lab, if you can get past your initial apprehension, it becomes one of the neatest platforms for learning. The amount of content can be a bit overwhelming, but if you take it step by step, you will succeed.

    Course highlights:

There were several highlights of this course to me. Primarily, I was thrilled to understand how each muscle, and bone, and organ functions in the body. I loved taking each area separately and then seeing them all come together perfectly, to form our resilient bodies. I also enjoyed the foundation that this class provided for future courses. Being able to master anatomy has greatly impacted all of my proceeding classes in that the new material that I learned, made a lot more sense because of my understanding of the body.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say that although the syllabus may look intimidating, don't become stressed out. There is certainly a great deal of memorization and content in this course, but it is manageable. You have to be diligent though. I would also say that it makes a world of difference if you stay up with the material. I totally understand that that is easier said than done, but it will save you from a panic attack the week before the test when you have 6 chapters' worth of content to memorize. If you are able to section out each unit and study diligently, than this class can actually be enjoyable!
