    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Mr. Buchanan as a Comp I and/or Comp II teacher because his class lectures taught be so much about the way I view society. He used his English class as a way to help students think out of the box when they write. He was very understanding in terms of allowing a student to miss a class or needing to step out for a phone call. The class required very few essays, which was boring to some students. Although, much can be taking out of this class, especially if a student will stay after class to ask questions.

    Course highlights:

I gained the ability to understand how politicians speak and how advertisements can be a trick. These seem like simple tasks. However, I now know why political debates get nowhere and why certain advertisements seem so entertaining. His class truly gave me a new way of viewing everyday occurrences.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay after class to talk to this teacher and talk during class. This class is not too difficult, but it is much more exciting if you are willing to be active during lectures and small group discussions. Mr. Buchanan is a very relaxed person, but do not slack off or the class will become very hard for you because he will grade you tougher.
