Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an excellent course taught by a knowledgeable and fun professor. He's a relatable person, and understands the struggle of college students, so he gives us a break on homework when necessary.

    Course highlights:

I came in thinking that this was going to be quite boring. But, in fact, it was one of the most valuable courses I've taken so far. It taught me how to read and correctly learn from the Bible without taking verses and books out of context, and distorting God's word. Although it's a required class, I would encourage everyone to go in with a good attitude and learn to the best of your ability.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up on the reading. While the reading isn't always necessary to pass the quizzes, the book he assigns is extremely informative, and a lot of what you learn in that class is reinforced through the book (Grasping God's Word).

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Jordan Newton helped open my eyes to the value in studying the Bible beyond the typical "morning quiet time" or listening to a sermon each Sunday. This class helped me discover how vital study of the Scriptures is to the holistic experience of a life following Jesus Christ.

    Course highlights:

So many. I entered the class perceiving the Bible as this distant, foreign, not-understandable, outdated, serious and boring thing (what a great thing for a Christian to see the Scriptures as, I know), and left being able to delight in, laugh at, question, engage with, tear up at and freeze up with awe at all to be found within the Bible– and I know I've just barely begun to scratch the surface in my study of the Scriptures.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Dig in. Ask questions. Approach even familiar passages with humility, with curious, childlike eyes, and enjoy! It's an opportunity to engage with God in a new and deeper way.
