    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is required for business majors, and is on the more difficult side of math courses that are required for graduation. Class is somewhat homework intensive, however the tests are quite fair in terms of difficulty when compared to the homework. The teacher (jensen), does her best to help students understand concepts and if you still don't get it the class comes with a workshop where a tutor can answer all your questions.

    Course highlights:

Class is essentially calculus with business applications. You will learn how to derive functions, minimize costs/maximize profits in different situations, understand calculus graphs, etc. I learned how to do all of these things and they will definitely come in handy in the business profession, especially in finance/accounting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not miss class. Notes are not posted online, so if you miss something you better get them from a classmate. Paying attention is key in any math course, but especially this one. Also, ask questions whenever you don't understand something. Almost all concepts overlap, so if you don't get something and don't ask, you are just digging yourself into a deep hole.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it its taught very clearly. Examples are used a lot and the professor makes sure that everybody is on the same page.

    Course highlights:

Math is a pretty boring subject but I was able to take away a lot of new math techniques and skills.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you take this class, make sure you keep up with all of the curriculum and thoroughly understand it. New concepts are built on things that you have learned before. It is very important to not fall behind.
