Pretty easy, overall.
The course itself is simple enough and goes a long way in helping you learn about how to make good arguments. This is great in aiding those of us who aren't really into English courses but ultimately have to deal with them. Along with that, you might just come out of it knowing a little more about how to spot a well-covered lie or an invalid claim.
An upside to this course is that there is little of actual reading involved. It's more about the vocabulary and definitions with the readings as examples of the concepts being used. Writing is also not too intensive and is again more about just showing that you know the terms involved in critical thinking.

Advice for students:
There may be a textbook to buy, but because this course is usually used to fulfill GE credits, it might not be too hard to find a fellow classmate you can borrow the book from. Just do the homework and seek help during office hours if you are having trouble with the assignments. My professor was really helpful and pretty much gave in an extra review before grading when I met with her. So, it can be easy as long as you can catch a possible fail early.
