This class was tough.
Amazing course, absolutely loved it! AE 165 is a combination of Stability and Control, Performance, and a bit of Orbital Mechanics. It's the precursor to AE 168, which is Aerospace Vehicle Dynamics and Control. Professor Hunter is amazing and the material is well-presented and super interesting. Highly recommended.
You learn a lot of the fundamentals that come in handy later on: the S&C portion really helped me when it came to Aircraft Design, internalizing the effect of the horizontal and vertical stabilizers on stability. The Performance section tied a lot of concepts from Aerodynamics together, like the Coefficients of Lift, Drag etc and L/D ratio. Being an aircraft person (as opposed to spacecraft) this course gave me rare insight into orbital mechanics, something I knew very little about previously and found really fascinating.

Advice for students:
Material is tough but super interesting and Professor Hunter makes it manageable. Make sure you read the course reader thoroughly and do ALL of the assignments. The Performance section seems overwhelming at first but do the homework (ALL OF IT) and make sure you understand the fundamentals.
