    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course to other students. I walked into this course not knowing anything about art or truly appreciating it. I walked out at the end of the semester with the exact opposite. I not only could explain the different art periods, but also what events in history caused these different artistic changes.

    Course highlights:

Through this course I learned that not all art is the same, and that art has a huge significance in our world. Through learning the different art periods, from the Renaissance to Modern Art, I learned not only how history shaped art but how art continually shaped each the culture and people of its era and continues to today. Our professor brought the different era's to life through class projects with "Mannerism" style soap carving activities, and "Baroque" inspired art sketches. Because of these innovative teaching tactics, art is something I will no longer ignore and fear but rather cherish.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When reading Art 204 on your syllabus don't run away in fear thinking "I'm not an artistic person." I thought I could never do art, but this class changed my mind. Take notes when the teacher gives instructions, mingle and discover the different artistic styles and strengths among the other students in your group, and be optimistic that this class will be worthwhile. Through these steps, it definitely turned out worthwhile for me.
