    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to anyone who is wanting to go into the medical field. You learn about pathogens in society at a microbial level, and how they will effect our surroundings and the people in them.

    Course highlights:

Learning about E. coli and all the damage it can do as a pathogen, as well as looking at blood and how to stain it or put it on a petri dish to be tested was the most interesting part of the course for me.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay ahead of the reading that will be required, and talk to the professor about any questions you make have because the course is challenging but not too hard to pass unless you let yourself get behind.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a fascinating class about various microbes and their lives. The teacher was great, the text was good, the labs were informative.

    Course highlights:

I learned a great deal about the life course of various microbes. We talked about where they live, the progression of their life. We talked about how many bacteria are deadly and several others are extremely beneficial. We discussed different attributes that microbes have to help them survive their environment. In the labs we saw the effects of growing populations of microbes, looked at stains we prepared under microscope, examined ways of killing off populations in both chemical and physical means.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The book is very helpful! Lecture is great, and your notes will help, but it was a necessity to go back through the book while studying for quizzes and exams.
