Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is the first course in the series of Japanese language courses offered for college credit. This class covers the basics of Japanese language, and introduces Japanese culture and customs.

    Course highlights:

In this course you will start by learning two of the Japanese writing systems, Katakana and Hiragana, common words, and basic grammar. The highlights of this course are gaining the ability to make brief conversation, and the fun, communication driven classroom environment.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Put in the time. There is a lot of memorization when it comes to learning the Japanese alphabet, and remember, there are two of them! Along with remembering grammar and vocabulary. It's not difficult if you take it one step at a time. Study the material from each class lesson briefly each day instead of trying to study everything the day before a test and you will do well.
