    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to anyone interested in becoming a leader or manager. You will gain some initial insight into yourself, how you function as a team member, and how your own individual style and skills will affect how you will function within an organization. Additionally, the teacher is very helpful, friendly, encourages discussion and has several years of experience in the field. This is a great class and I would highly recommend taking it.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of BA 316 is the final group project. Your assignment is to research a local business and create a PowerPoint presentation which will include classroom ideas and forms of analysis that you have learned from previous lectures. This may sound like a lot, but do not worry. You have a group and are given several weeks in advance to prepare. This is a great way to cement your understanding of the topics discussed in class and show that you truly understand the different types of management. Furthermore, It’s always fun applying classroom topics to the real world and seeing their connections.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class, you need to participate in the classroom discussion. Not only does this create a better classroom environment, but voicing your opinion and asking questions heavily contributes to your final grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course gave me a new insight on how to advertise a product while also giving me the tools necessary and the drive to start a business of my own. Professor Wilson became one of my favorite professors at UO because of her constant appreciation for her students and their wellbeing. Her assignments were focused on the class as a whole and she always made an effort to be available and helpful.

    Course highlights:

I believe the highlights of this course were the collaborative learning that the class was formed around and the group projects we had. For our final project we researched and analyzed the in-depth advertising of a specific company and how they could better reach their consumers. We then presented our findings and research in front of the class, as if we were the company pitching an ad campaign. The project was fun, exciting, and a taste of what it is like to pitch an idea to a panel of CEO's.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are planning to take this course, make sure to be creative and up to date with all of the assignments and group endeavors.
