I would recommend it because the assignments are organized so as to teach us some of the basic analytical models and forms necessary for archaeological research.
What was most interesting about this course was that it covered ancient cities all around the world. This was really fascinating because we were able to see the different ways that civilizations organized their urban centers though space and time.

Advice for students:
Do the readings. They are really not that long, and this is a 300 level course; once you start taking higher level courses, especially in anthropology, it is important to learn how to manage a dense reading load. This class does not assign non-essential readings; all of the readings were very useful for understanding the content of the course.
