Pretty easy, overall.
I found it fascinating and engaging which helped keep me involved and enthusiastic about the course throughout the term. The reading material was light and easy and the homework was great practice for the tests.
I learned all about the basics of linguistics and new terms such as morphology, allomorphy, semantic change. It all spun into a connecting web, so I expect the information to stick for a long time to come. I learned about where English vocabulary comes from and who uses what and when it changed and how linguists learn all of that information.

Advice for students:
All you need to do is go to the classes and do the homework by the time its due. As long as you do those two things, you should get a good grade. Any effort past that will just raise your grade even further.
