Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course took an interesting look at cultural expression through the lens of art. It was inspiring to see how art is used to create connection between people and address hot issues that cannot be quite explained in any other way. It inspired me to pursue a career in arts management and education.

    Course highlights:

highlights were learning about different artistic events, and looking at them through different human experiences to see how they relate. Inspired projects made this class fun!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Engage! Classes are only as worth while as you make them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class offered insight into the gendering of art. Many images throughout society are aimed towards specific classes and sexes. This class deconstructed what it meant to be woman and man. I recommend this course to everyone I meet because it impacted the way I view the world.

    Course highlights:

The final project was an open prompt and many students altered the expectations of their gender. One gentleman brought in a display of My Little Pony, a transgender student was transformed into their birth sex and another student recreated a song in the view of misogyny. This class taught me to accept people regardless of their appearance and sex. It also taught me about myself and how I perceived everything around me.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do it, and have fun with it. There are no boundaries to the course. Although I recommend taking it with Voelker-Morris and in-class. Online classes will not justify the course.
