Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Geography is not something that has ever interested me. As a baccalaureate core class, this is something I took purely because I had to. Yet from day 1, Damien Hommel (the professor) inspired me with his obvious passion for teaching and the subject. I found myself wanting to share what I learned in class with my friends and family.
This course gives an insight into many of the countries we don't normally think about. The biggest takeaway from this course was making students question what qualifies as western. Is Mexico western? Is Canada? Why? These are the kinds of rhetorical questions that have changed the way I think about the world on the whole.

Advice for students:
The biggest piece of advice I would give students is to attend lectures. Sure its hard to get out of bed but it really is worth it! I personally find geography to be a bland subject particularly when reading page after page in a textbook. Yet the professor managed to keep me interested and actually wanting to hear more.
